The Tick-Magnets rolled into town with only a couple of things on our minds.... A Wedding Chapel and a slot machine!
Our first stop was the chapel. We took the advice of our California beer-buddies from Seattle and did the drive-thru wedding chapel, A Special Memory. Oh the look on the poor old man's face when he say three women in the car!!! But Swiz schmuzzed him over and quickly the transaction was made. He smiled and handed us the gift we had hoped for... the lace-covered ammo can!
What a hoot of a man, I think he enjoyed our geo-adventure in his drive-thru a bit more than we did... and we enjoyed it A LOT! A signed log, travel bugs picked up, the can snapped shut and we were pulling out the drive!
Swiz then suggested a special virtual cache... on the 109th floor of the Stratosphere Casino!! Say WHAT??? Clyde volunteered to drop Swiz and I at the door and do a little adventuring on her own while Swiz and I braved the 21 MPH elevator-ride (3 floors per second!). I must admit... I was not at all excited... nervous and doubtful better described me!! NOT being a fan of heights, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to look over the railings once we got to the top!! But the view was breath-taking... it was amazing... as individuals we are so small in the much larger world....
The elevator dropped us off on the 108th floor. It is enclosed which made the first viewing a little "easier" for height-wimpy folks like me! ;) A quick sit on a comfy chair, a chardonnay and margarita, many pictures taken.... then we ascended to the 109th for our virtual photo op.
Back down the elevator... and on to the big-spender finality... the slot machines!!!
Swiz and I came out big winners!! Combined we dropped in $9 and we walked away with just over $13. Clyde... well.... ummmm.... that part is her story to tell.... HeeHee!
