The Columbia River, Washington!

All it takes to turn our perfectly planned day into a long, long, (and sometimes looooong) day is a perfectly placed Earth Cache... and honestly, few things excite us more than an expected chance at a smiley/icon along the way!! So, in true Tick-Magnet style... we pulled over, bit the time on the clock, and snagged the cache!

And the views did NOT disappoint!

I have to admit... timing is everything.   We arrived at dusk with the sun barely above the horizon.  As it began to set, a beautiful ray seemed to land at our feet... it was almost as if we were being to told where to be, and we were there!

With pictures to take, plaques to read, and questions to answer... our "quick" stop had us there to watch the sun tuck itself behind the mountain.   Swiz is becoming a master at sunset shots!

Back on the road, we were able to catch a beautiful shot of the bridge we had seen from the top of the hill.  The river has a whole different look from this vantage point!

Nature is a quirky thing... once we were down from one mountain and passing around another... the daylight returned... it was almost like a time warp!    But rest assured, the new daylight was gone quickly as the sun continued to set behind the next mountain!
