The
Tick-Magnets hosted a send-off event on August 5th at the
Sonic Drive-In in Centerville, GA. We have to say a HUGE THANK-YOU to all our
caching buddies who came out to offer their best wishes for the trip! It was so
great to see old and new friends – Middle Georgia Cachers are just the
greatest!

Middle Georgia Geocahcing Gang!! LYMI! |
We had at
least 3 cachers who reached smiley “milestones” at the event (woo-hoo!). There
were 2 caching friends who joined us via satellite from the remote wilderness of
eastern Georgia. There was even a cacher from Pennsylvania (wesofdtown) who
just happened to be in town … he’s our new best friend because he brought us
Diet Coke!
|
Jazmin5 (the camera-shy one!) hit 200 smileys at the event! Go Jazmin!!! |
|
Wes.... after we snatched the Diet Coke from his hands!! THANKS Wes... way to represent the north!! |
The event
was the official start of the 2014-2015 Middle Georgia Travel Bug Race. We had
34 vehicles enter the Race - and a couple more are expected to join the fun before
we leave on Friday! Holy Toledo, ... er, I mean, Holy Seattle! We were just
tickled pink to have so many cars in the Race. We will take them all to
Seattle, and drop them in the MEGA so they’ll all start with a ton of miles.
Then we’ll get back together in August 2015 to announce the prize winners.
Wishing many happy travels and grand adventures along the geo-trail for all the
racers!

Event Log... TTM-style! |
The
Tick-Magnets also gave out our newest pathtag, Seattle or Bust, to all who
entered the Race! This pathtag was designed by our caching friend,
HappyCricket. Mac worked with Cricket behind-the-scenes to order the pathtags
as a SURPRISE for our trip! Isn’t it just the neatest tag?

Thanks again
to everyone who came last night, and to all who sent in cars for the Race. It
was the perfect Seattle Send-Off!

THANK YOU, from the TTMs! |
